White Record
Thesis Collection (2026)Karissa’s thesis collection, titled ‘White Record’, examines the relationship between memory, language, and time. Rooted in her reflections of time and fleeting memories, this collection traces how her perception of time is heavily shaped by navigating between languages, informing the way she thinks about temporality and space.
Inspired by cassette tapes and spectral analyses, she develops a modular strap system that echoes the movement of tapes within these formats, unfolding gradually and allowing moments to be extended, rewound, or held in suspension.
This strap system is carried throughout 9 bags, and 1 pair of shoes. These prodcuts also feature handmade metal hardware, most notably a prong/stud detail, which allows this design detail to echo design details within cassette tapes.
